Toddler Time!

That's right folks Kaylee is in full force toddler mode! I am loving it! She is sure keeping us busy. After many years of small children being in my parents house not one has ever been successful in breaking through the gate that is between the kitchen and dining room. Well I am proud to announce that my daughter figured it out! She will lift it up the whole gate and then pushes it open. The funny part is that when she has gets on the other side she closes it back up! I guess she figures that if it looks untouched she is safe! The moment I go in to capture her, she looks at me smiles and darts off! This is something that I would have done at this age! Paying for my raising!
We are still in San Benito and having a great time. Kaylee is waking both Nana and Papa up each morning. I guess she thinks that if she is up everybody else needs to be too! They are loving each and every moment with the Queen of the house! Dan is coming back today! Woohooo! We are going to a good ole San Benito Greyhound football game tonight. Here are a few shots of Kaylee around Nana and Papa's house.....

Goodbye Wallpaper!

After 40+ years we finally said goodbye to the LOVELY wallpaper in my parent's kitchen! Sad day in the Wood house! My handy man of a husband worked three days in a row to finish it. Good job hun! Yesterday my mom and I made a trip to Hobby Lobby and bought some new decor! It's still is a work in progress, but I will leave you with what we have so far.

A piece of advice

To read my post in order you need to scroll down to June 2009! Thanks and enjoy reading!!!!

And summer comes to an end.....

Well everyone is headed back to work/school tomorrow. We are back in the valley helping out my mom after my dad's eye surgery. It went really well! Dan is busy painting my parents kitchen. I have to say it is coming out really nice. Pictures coming soon! We will be getting back into a routine when we return next week. I will be going to a women's bible study group on Wednesday mornings, and every other Friday I will be going to a MOMS group. I am so excited for these two things...one because I will be able to talk to other adults rather then toddler talk...and two because Kaylee will be interacting with other kids!!!! Our home teams is also starting back up!!! Very excited about that as well!!! Kaylee and I will also be visiting the library on Mondays for Toddler time! I am loving this age!!! We are able to do so much more now! Fall looks like it will be a busy one!

July 2009

Sit back and relax! This was a crazy month!

July 1st- Kaylee turns one! I didn't realize how fast the year went by!!! She grew like a weed! We had lunch at McDonald with Nana and the Hawkins' clan. The kids had happy meals. Kaylee loved it! Then Aunt Kimmy bought all the kids ice cream cones. Kaylee REALLY loved this! We then played with them at the play area. Kaylee really didn't know what to think of it. Trevor on the other hand was the happiest kid in the world! Thanks to having Trevor around and being older then Kaylee, she really watches his every move. She soon noticed that he was walking and she was not! Later on that day Dan woke up from sleeping(he was working nights, we were both in the living room Dan stood Kaylee up and she too three steps toward me!!! YEA!!!!! What a big girl and on her first birthday!!!! We then celebrated and got ready for her birthday dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings!

July 4th- Happy 4th!!! I loaded up our little family of three and we went to the neighborhood parade and hot dog party. Watch out Macy's you have something to worry about it! Well not really..hahaha.... This had to be the smallest parade we had ever been to!!! We had a fire truck followed by about 50 kids on their bikes. I know they were totally excited but we sitting in the hot and well we weren't to excited! We then went to the park area and had some lunch, put Kaylee in the Moon Jump, and showed her the fire truck. We then headed home napped and had Aunt Ashley and Uncle Matt over. Uncle Matt made some awesome ribs!!!! We then ended the night with fireworks!!!

July 5th-11th.....Florida here we come!!!! The big trip we had been talking about for months! Dan was excited about the fishing and I was excited about Aunt Ashley and Uncle Matt's wedding!!!! Dan's parents traveled with us to help out with Kaylee. They were sooooo much help! Thanks again!!!
While in Florida we saw dolphins, ate, went swimming, ate, visited the Theater of the Sea, ate, partied in Key West, ate, and we witnessed one of the most beautiful beach weddings ever!!!! I was so honored to stand beside Ashley as her Matron of Honor and have Kaylee as the flower girl. Dan took some amazing pictures (check them out on our family photo link)! Ashley and Matt our truly an amazing couple and I am so glad God placed them in our lives. I look forward to making many memories with them!!!
We hopefully will now be taking a yearly trip with them to Florida. It's a great place and is tons of fun!

July 17-19 Trip to college station for Dan's cousins wedding. We were able to see lots of family that we hadn't seen since our wedding. Kaylee met GreatGrandma Schwartz for the first time as well as tons of other family members! It was a great time! Meagan made a beautiful bride and I have to say that the food at the reception was the best I have ever had!

July 20- We traveled to San Antonio to meet up with the Schutte clan (Dan's family from up north). I ended up getting sick!!!! Not fun for me! I braved it and we all went to Sea World. WOW...talk about HOT!!!!! Never go to Sea World in the heat of summer!!!! We will be going in the fall from now on! We saw the Shamu show. Very inspirational, but I remember Shamu jumping a lot higher when I was little. Dan agreed! The dolphin show was amazing! Even though it was hot and I was still sick I lasted to 5:30! Go me! We then hopped back in the car and drove to Nana and Papa's house.

July 21-31.... We stayed at my parents house two night then we all headed down the the beach for the weekend. We got settled in the room and then headed to the pool. Kaylee loved the water! WE played there for about an hour then got ready for dinner. We went to our family favorite restaurant Blackbeards. It was so good to finally eat seafood again! The next morning we went to the beach and then played some more at the pool. It was near lunch time so we went back to the room, ate some lunch, and then put Kaylee down for a nap. I didn't realize that she was going to sleep for FOUR HOURS!!! She was well rested and ready for some more beach time! While we were at the beach Dan headed out fishing with his buddy that has the boat. That night we had dinner and then watched the fireworks over the bay. Great fireworks! Thanks Nana and Papa for such a wonderful time at the beach!!!!!

Dan had to head home after the beach because he had to work. Kaylee and I ended staying the rest of the week. I was able to finally meet Diane and Julio's baby boy!!!! I had to wait a whole month!!!!! He is a precious baby! I had so much fun huggin on him! We spent some much needed time with Great Grandma Wood while we were there. She was so happy to see Kaylee!!! We had a great week in the Valley.

July 31-August 2nd.....Dan picked us up from the airport and we headed to Galveston with the Schwartz side for the weekend. We went to dinner at Rain Forest Cafe. It was so great food and the scenery was awesome. Kaylee loved when the animals started making all of their noise. The next day we went to Schlitterbahn. It was so funny to Kaylee wave at everyone on the lazy river. She was a trooper and loved going down the slide. The last day we went down to the beach and then on our way home we stopped for lunch. Thank you again Grana and Pops for a wonderful weekend in Galveston!

That's it for July!

June 2009

I have decided since we have been REALLY busy this summer I am going to do a month to month MEGA post!

Dan and I celebrated our third anniversary on June 10th. We had dinner at Benihanas and then went to the movies and saw The Hangover (funniest movie ever!). We hadn't been to the movies in forever! A thing we used to do ALL the time before Kaylee! Three years has gone by so fast! I can say we truly love each other more then the day we got married!

Next up in June was Dan's ten year high school reunion. It certainly was interesting to see the people that Dan went to high school with. Not at all what I expected! Remember these people are all about twenty eight years old, and in walks a man in a bunny costume. Okay.....Seriously....What have you been doing the last ten years! To make it worse the costume was DIRTY! That was definitely the highlight of the night! We had a great time and I was able to hear some great stories about my stud!

My next event was throwing a Bachelorette party for my best friend Ashley. What a fun evening! We started out at my house, had an amazing dinner at El Patio(you should try this place), went to the best piano bar in town (Howl at the Moon), and ended the night at Mo's Place(a country bar). Fun was had by all! We definitely made some memories!

My party skills were not done just yet! The big event was just around the corner. That's right folks it was time for the ONE YEAR OLD BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!!! Dan and I both didn't know that planning and throwing a one year old party would be so exhausting! We had everything from a pinata to a keg of beer. I am pretty sure we covered all our bases. I know Kaylee probably won't remember her first party, but she will have TONS of photos. We had party food, burgers, hot dogs, and you can't forget about the cake and ice cream. I was determined that I was going to make Kaylee's first cake! Well I did and the frosting was horrible! Thank goodness for ice cream to cover it up! Kaylee was showered with many gifts and loved them all! If you were there to celebrate with us.....THANK YOU AGAIN! When all of our guest left Dan leaned over to me and said, "Every party is not going to be like this, RIGHT????" Oh hubby....We will see!

I believe that ended our month of June!!!!

Our Baby is ONE!!!!

It is hard to believe that Kaylee is already one! We have had an amazing year!

Birthday party post to come soon!!!
